What a VIN verification is
In California, a VIN verification is a physical check of your vehicle's identification number (VIN) and other details, such as the make, year and body type, recorded on the DMV's Verification of Vehicle form (REG 31). The DMV uses it to confirm that the vehicle in front of the inspector matches the paperwork before it is registered or titled. Registration Leaders is a private business contracted through the California DMV Business Partner Automation program, not the DMV.
Vehicles last registered out of state
Moving to California or buying a car registered in another state? Registering a vehicle last registered out of state requires a VIN verification. We can do it and help with the rest of the registration.
Salvage and revived salvage
Vehicles coming back from salvage status usually need a verification before they can be registered again. Some revived salvage inspections must be done by the DMV or the CHP rather than a private verifier, so call first and we'll tell you who needs to inspect your vehicle. More on salvage titles.

In our office
Drive the vehicle to 6381 Auburn Blvd, Ste A, in Citrus Heights at your appointment time. Good if you are nearby or also have other paperwork to finish at the counter the same visit.
Mobile
We come to the vehicle anywhere in our service area. Good for RVs and trailers, vehicles that aren't registered yet, several vehicles at once, or a busy schedule. Availability depends on location and schedule, so call to arrange.
Open Saturdays until 9pm
We are open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 9pm, by appointment. DMV field offices are closed on weekends and generally close at 5pm on weekdays, so an evening or Saturday verification is often the easiest time to get it done.

- The vehicle itself, present for the inspection (for a mobile visit, parked where we can reach it)
- The title or registration, or the out-of-state title and registration if the vehicle was last registered in another state
