Book online or call. If your notice asks for smog, get the smog check done before the appointment so we can finish the renewal in one visit.
We look up the vehicle
We pull the record, confirm smog and insurance, and show you the DMV fees due, including any late fees, plus our service fee, before you pay.
Leave with your sticker
In many cases we print your registration card and sticker at the counter. If something on the record prevents that, we explain what's blocking it and how to clear it.
Common mistakes that delay a renewal
These are the things that most often keep people from leaving with a sticker.
Skipping the smog check
If your notice says smog is required, the renewal can't be completed until a passing result is on file. Get it done before your appointment.
Insurance not on file
The DMV needs current insurance for the vehicle. A lapsed policy or a policy on a different vehicle can stop the renewal.
Unpaid parking or toll violations
Unpaid parking tickets and toll violations on the vehicle record must be paid or cleared by the issuing agency before the renewal can be completed. Check your notice for them. Source: California DMV, Renew Your Vehicle's Registration.
An old address on record
If you moved and didn't update your address, your notice and new sticker may go to the old one. Update your address with the DMV whenever you move.
Waiting until it's expired
Renewing after the expiration date adds DMV late fees, and driving on expired registration can get you a ticket. Book before the date on your sticker.
