Built around a commuter's schedule
A lot of Rancho Cordova runs on Highway 50: people heading into downtown Sacramento in the morning, or out toward Folsom and the business parks along the corridor. The DMV lists its nearby field offices as open on weekdays, generally 8am to 5pm (9am on Wednesdays), and closed on weekends. That works for some people. For others it means taking time off.
Registration Leaders is a private business contracted through the DMV Business Partner Automation program. We see customers by appointment until 9pm, Monday to Saturday, so you can handle a title transfer or a late renewal after your commute instead of during it. Our service fee is charged in addition to DMV fees.

The DMV's location finder does not show a field office inside the city. For 95670 it lists Carmichael (5209 North Ave), Folsom (East Bidwell Street) and Sacramento (4700 Broadway), plus a self-serve kiosk at the Safeway at 10635 Folsom Blvd for simpler registration tasks.
The drive north
From most of Rancho Cordova, the most direct route is Sunrise Blvd. Take it north across the American River into Fair Oaks and Citrus Heights, then go west on Greenback Lane or Madison Avenue to Auburn Blvd. If you are coming from elsewhere on Highway 50, exit at Sunrise Blvd and do the same. Plan on about 20 to 30 minutes, more during rush hour.
