When you are onboarding several people at once, sending each applicant to find their own Live Scan site slows hiring down. Pick whichever fits your schedule.
At our office
We set aside appointments for your batch at 6381 Auburn Blvd, Ste A, Citrus Heights. Evenings and Saturdays help applicants who already work day jobs.
On site, at your location
We come to your office, school, facility or job site anywhere in our service area and fingerprint the group there. Availability depends on location and schedule, so call to arrange.

By appointment. New hires can come after work or on a Saturday, so start dates are not held up waiting on fingerprints.
Live Scan and FD-258 ink cards
Registration Leaders is a private business, not the California Department of Justice (DOJ), the FBI, the DMV or any other government agency. We take the fingerprints and send them where they need to go. More on fingerprinting.
Live Scan (digital)
Fingerprints are captured electronically and sent to the California DOJ, and to the FBI when the request calls for a federal check. Each applicant brings the Request for Live Scan Service form (BCIA 8016) from your agency and leaves with a copy showing the transaction number (ATI).
Ink fingerprint cards (FD-258)
Some agencies still want prints on paper, often for licensing or employment with agencies outside California. We roll the cards and the applicant sends them in as the agency instructs.

How to schedule a group session
Call with your headcount
Call (916) 595-8128. Tell us how many people, whether they need Live Scan, ink cards or both, and whether you want the session at our office or at your site.
Get the forms ready
Fill out the agency section of each BCIA 8016 form before the session: your ORI, application type, job title and level of service. We quote the session before any work.
Session day
Each applicant brings their form and a valid photo ID. Live Scan applicants leave with their copy showing the ATI number; ink card applicants leave with their completed cards.
Tip: check the forms before anyone is fingerprinted
According to the California DOJ, a mismatch between the application type and the job title can get a transaction rejected, and if the FBI box is not checked when an FBI check is allowed, you will not receive an FBI response. If your agency has a DOJ billing number, put it on the form; otherwise applicants should be ready to pay the government fees at the session.

Tell us your headcount when you call and we'll plan the session around it, at our office or on site.
What does each applicant need to bring?
For Live Scan, the Request for Live Scan Service form (BCIA 8016) with the agency section filled out, plus a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. For ink cards, any FD-258 cards or instructions from the agency, and the same photo ID.
Who pays the government fees?
The California DOJ and FBI processing fees are set by the government, not by us. If your agency has a DOJ billing number, put it on the BCIA 8016 form; otherwise applicants should be ready to pay the government fees at the session. Our service fee is separate.
How much does a group session cost?

Do you receive the background check results?
No. Live Scan results go from the California DOJ directly to the agency that requested them. Processing times depend on the California DOJ and the FBI, not on us.
Are you the California DOJ or the DMV?
No. Registration Leaders is a private business. We are not the California Department of Justice, the FBI, the DMV or any other government agency, and we do not decide the outcome of any background check.
