02What a business partner is

What a DMV business partner can do.

The California DMV runs a Business Partner Automation program that authorizes qualified companies to process vehicle registration and titling transactions from their own locations. The DMV lists the transactions as including registration renewals, registered owner transfers, salvage applications, nonresident vehicles and replacement titles. Partners may charge a service fee for the work. We are a private business, not the DMV, and our fee is added to the DMV's fees.

At our counter

Registration and titles

Renewals ($55), title transfers ($65), out-of-state transfers ($80), salvage titles ($90) and no-title transfers ($90), each plus DMV fees.

At our counter

VIN verification

REG 31 verifications for $60 + DMV fees (auto) or $80 + DMV fees (commercial), at the office or mobile. The extra cost for a mobile visit is quoted before we go.

Still the DMV

Licenses and tests

Driver's licenses, ID cards, REAL ID and driving tests are DMV services. We process vehicle paperwork, not driver licensing.

We go for you

DMV take-in

If your file must be handled at the DMV, our DMV take-in service ($225 + DMV fees) lets us act as your power of attorney there.

A vehicle history report is required for every title transfer we process. It is part of the DMV protocol we follow as a DMV business partner and it protects you: the report flags title brands, liens, odometer rollbacks and theft records before anything is filed. We pull the report for you when you book — ask us about it.

05Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Is Registration Leaders the DMV?

No. Registration Leaders is a private business in Citrus Heights contracted through the DMV Business Partner Automation program. That program lets qualified companies process vehicle registration and titling transactions from their own locations, and partners may charge a service fee. We charge a flat service fee for each service, listed on our pricing page, and DMV fees are added on top.

What can you complete at your counter without a DMV visit?

We process registration renewals ($55 + DMV fees), title transfers ($65 + DMV fees), out-of-state transfers ($80 + DMV fees), salvage titles ($90 + DMV fees), no-title transfers ($90 + DMV fees) and VIN verifications ($60 + DMV fees for an auto, $80 + DMV fees for a commercial vehicle). You walk out with your paperwork handled instead of waiting at a field office. Sales tax is collected on our service fees.

What still has to go to a DMV office?

Driver's licenses, ID cards, REAL ID and driving tests are DMV services we do not provide, because our program covers vehicle transactions. Some vehicle situations also need a DMV or CHP inspector, such as certain revived salvage inspections, and we tell you before you book if yours is one of them. If a file needs to be handled at the DMV in person, our DMV take-in service ($225 + DMV fees) lets us act as your power of attorney so you do not have to go.

Are you open when DMV field offices are closed?

Yes. DMV field offices in Sacramento and Roseville list weekday hours, roughly 8am to 5pm with a later Wednesday opening, and are closed Saturday and Sunday. We are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 9pm, Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 4pm. A $15 convenience fee applies to weekend visits and to weekday visits after 5pm.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk-ins and appointments are both welcome, seven days a week. We recommend calling (916) 595-8128 first so we can tell you exactly what to bring and how busy we are. A short call often saves a second trip.

Do you serve people outside Citrus Heights?

Yes. Our office at 6381 Auburn Blvd, Ste A serves Citrus Heights and 14 nearby communities, including Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom, Elk Grove and Rancho Cordova. VIN verification, fingerprinting and pick-up and drop-off can come to you, and the extra cost depends on distance and time of service and is quoted before we go.

Ready to get it done?

Walk-ins and appointments welcome, Monday to Friday, 10am to 9pm, Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 4pm. Call first; we confirm booked times by text or email.
